Tucson Saguaros Hold Off High Desert Yardbirds 3-1

June 22 2018 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the High Desert Yardbirds 3-1. Both teams scored in the first inning before Tucson took the lead with two runs in the second. The Saguaros held High Desert scoreless over the final six innings and finished with a 12-7 advantage in hits.

Jaquese Moore collected two hits and scored once for Tucson, while Corey Davis Jr. went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Charlie Padilla added two hits, scored a run and drove in one, and Austin Hoffman recorded an RBI. The box score also credited Padilla with a home run. High Deserts Jason Johnson-Wilcoxson had one hit, scored the Yardbirds only run and drove in one, with the box score crediting him with a home run.

Skylar Sylvester earned the win after allowing one run on seven hits in seven innings. He struck out five and walked none. Kade Wagner took the loss for High Desert, allowing three runs on 12 hits with two walks and two strikeouts in six innings.
